Moorsbus.org is registered public transport, run by volunteers, to enable people without cars to enjoy the lovely North York Moors National Park and surrounding area. Everyone is welcome. We also encourage car users to use public transport, because sharing transport reduces pollution, congestion and carbon footprint. Friends of Moorsbus is a passenger group with over 300 members, and we support Moorsbus Community Interest Company, who are three volunteer directors. Our Friends group helps with fundraising and supports new passengers with “days out” suggestions, particularly people who are lonely or isolated, or who are nervous about using public transport into the countryside. The Moorsbus CIC volunteers arrange contracts with local bus operators so that the buses can run every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday from the beginning of May to the end of September. We have been arranging these services since 2014, when we started with one bus, and we now run several, see route map on https://moorsbus.org
