Morsbags Project

Donated unwanted fabrics are used to make cloth carrier bags which are given away free, preventing waste and to stop the use of plastic bags.

Morsbags is a worldwide not for profit organisation started by Claire Morsman in 2008 when she saw the damage that plastic bags were doing to wildlife and the environment.

Morsbags are always given away free for people to use again and again instead of plastic bags. They are made using recycled fabric, for example old curtains and duvet covers, that would otherwise go to landfill.

The local Morsbag group is Pickering Morsbaggers who meet once a month and have sewn and given away over 2800 bags. They would like to help you set up a group in your community to help spread the message “Be Fantastic Don’t Use Plastic”
